Camp provides special education students with the opportunity to take part in an exciting camp experience that promotes independence and self-esteem in a highly supportive environment.
Camp is offered to all Marathon County Special Education students ages 6 - 21, regardless of the type or severity of their individual needs and is offered free of charge. All program activities are targeted to the child's abilities and are paced accordingly. Campers painting fish
Campers swimming Camp is staffed by well-qualified special education staff, including special education teachers, a school nurse, and parent volunteers. The camp maintains a ratio of approximately five campers to one camp staff member, allowing for close supervision and support to meet the varied needs of campers as they engage in a variety of outdoor adventures. Additional one-to-one support is provided for campers on an as-needed basis. Our goal is to provide a safe, structured, supportive environment so that all campers can participate in camp activities. All camp staff are trained regarding camp activities and safety issues.
